Move-Out Cleaning Checklist for Renters

Moving out is stressful enough without worrying about your security deposit. A proper move-out clean is the difference between getting your full deposit back and losing hundreds of dollars.   • Clean oven interior and exterior, including the glass door
  • Wipe down microwave inside and out
  • Clean refrigerator — remove all items, wipe shelves, drawers, and door seals
  • Degrease stovetop, knobs, and hood vent filter
  • Clean dishwasher filter and wipe door seal
  • Wipe all cabinet fronts, handles, and interior shelves
  • Clean countertops, backsplash, and sink thoroughly
  • Remove trash and recyclables
  • Sweep and mop the floor, including under appliances if possible
